 scarves, stripes, skinnies, boots, wayfarers.. i've missed her. 
(i was affraid for a while that becoming mrs ment only fur coats, cocktail dresses and high heel pumps).

sunday morning..

eating cherries is even more sweeter after you've picked them on your own climbing up the tree..

this may seem like a pretty boring post, but sundays are like that, beautiful in their easyness and boringness. all you need is a cup of your favorite tea, easy literature and hopefully electricity blackout so you're not tempted to turn on your laptop, tv or other unnecessary devices.  

the candles from my other birthday cake make such a great decoration that i've decided not to throw them away yet. sophie dahl's first novel is one of the books/souvenirs i brought back from london a few months ago. i haven't read it yet, it's on the pile that waits long, worryless summer days..

queen of the castle..

smell of jasmine, red wine, candles, balloons, garden, drums, amps, cake, presents, rain, flower petals, midnight, garage, live music, family, friends. and a new decade in front of me. best birthday ever. 

reds..

 when it comes to clothes red isn't exactly my color. the only red piece in my wardrobe is this dress here. but i love seeing it on others..my favorite ruby aldridge for instance. i don't even mind her top to toe red combination. makes me think of reconsidering to add some of this tones into my closet. 

smells like grunge spirit..

although it should have been on my bookshelf years ago already, it was only recently that i got myself michael lavine's photography book called 'grunge'. as the go-to photographer for the preeminent grunge label sub pop, michael lavine brings a selection of pictures of all the bands from the so called grunge era, and also some seattle street style photos before street style even existed.. with the legendary thurston moore's comments included, this book is an ode to the movement which after the hippies in the sixties and punks in the seventies left a permanent trace in music and subculture history. a must-have literature piece for all the grunge kids who were 'so uncool they were beyond cool', as thurston would say. <3

listening to noel gallagher's high flying birds and contemplating over this pictures rather than over something i'm supposed to..it's barely the middle of the week and all i'm thinking about is going dancing with the girls this weekend..

since i've been loving you..

my unconditional love for flare jeans started years and years ago when i inherited my mums levi's model from the seventies.. unfortunately they don't fit me anymore, but i've replaced them with the number of others over the years. at one point i even had more flares in my closet than all other jeans and trousers combined. whether they're dark or light, whether kate, emmanuelle or geraldine are wearing them, whether they are a top trend or last winter's snow, they'll always be one of the key pieces in my wardrobe.
