despite all the frenzy and excitement, national fashion events somehow always leave a bitter taste in my mouth in the end..since this season was no exception, i'll just mention that my favorite young designer andreja bistričić featured her first men's collection which was designed in collaboration with maja merlić and her polaroid work. the girls already worked together on andreja's last year's collection (my post about it), which they presented about a month ago on the international fashion showcase during the london fashion week. i loved the men's collection, but i hate catwalk pics..so i'm posting these amazing sanja bistričić's shots from the last season's lookbook.

choosing a hardcore gig over a fashion show came as a pretty good idea for me last week..and although i don't have an excuse for not going to the other two nights of my small country's most desirable fashion event, it was the all new internet feature that did me a favor - live streaming directly from the catwalk. there's certainly a difference in watching your fav designers' new collections from the edge of the runway and lurking at home behind your laptop while cursing the lousy connection..but not being surrounded by a bunch of unimportant faces and names you don't even want to know, makes the decision quite obvious. 

anyway, my favorites scored once again, andreja bistričić staying true to herself with a totally grungy collection, and jasmina arnautović stepping into mens apparel this time which pieces i'd gladly add to my wardrobe. since there's obviously no lack of inspiration and talent in this girls, i wish that their true fans like myself would soon be able to trade the wishful thinking for a piece of their creations..

admiring classics and enjoying good old wine is what i see as my essential pleasures someday i grow wiser, and wealthier, so buying chanel bags, balenciaga coats and van cleef & arples jewelry would make up my everyday rituals..although that wisdom might seem to be the right thing to pray for, there's something about young fashion designers that reminds me how being the rebellious young soul (and worshiping vivienne westwood) is the only dream i want to follow.

just when i thought the only true cool people left in this world are either my closest friends or are those several galaxies away, i met two young ladies who i'd be underestimating if i were to call them only cool..one went to college in london, the other one is just a step from her diploma..one being

an eccentric, the other one more of a romantic..both enjoying doing

what they do best, they've decided to find a place together where they

would create and present their work..and they're both wildly happy and

excited about it.

have i already mentioned they are my favorite young croatian designers.?
