viva la cuba..

being able to travel is the greatest joy a person can have. it can lift your spirit, broaden your horizons and literaly take you to places you've dreamt of. traveling far isn't always affordable, but book reading, listening to music and exploring things in any way possible surely is. and it is the first step towards appreciating the beauty that this world has to offer.
these are a few of my mum's photos from her last year's trip to cuba. looking at them and listening to her stories makes me feel like i've already been there. but they also make me want to get back soon.

big blue..

in the light of current historic changes in this small part of the world i call home, this may seem like some kind of a patriotic post.. but it's just a consequence of my recent travels through my country. although i consider myself as a citizen of the world and i don't believe in borders of any kind, there is something about that feeling when you call a place (a neighbourhood, a city, a country) your home. being happy that the world is getting smaller every second and that globetrotting is becoming more usual, doesn't mean that i don't believe in that old saying - there's no place like home.
pics taken by me last month in two croatian cities, pula and dubrovnik.

don't think twice, it's all right..

backyard in bloom, afternoon snack, upcoming concerts, sunday walks, festival necessities, a cup of lady grey and magazines, books, books, and some more books. springtime. and my loved ones. and my dear friends. inspiration on every corner.

every rose has its thorn..

when local distributers stopped offering stella mccartney perfumes a couple of years ago, i was kind of happy, thinking less ladies will carry the same scent as me. since i never got tired of scent of a rose, through the years i've managed to find a couple of affordable everyday perfumes and colognes that come from a range of natural cosmetics and aren't tested on animals. moreover, they smell very similar to my favourite stella, especially the body shop's moroccan rose which has recently been changed by the atlas mountain rose line. not until recently have i stepped into romano ricci's world of roses and just like i thought i would, i have instantly fallen in love with his version of vintage rock princess who smells just like stella's, but in a high class society.
and yes, i'll soon need a spare room for my perfume bottles collection.

sunday morning..

eating cherries is even more sweeter after you've picked them on your own climbing up the tree..
this may seem like a pretty boring post, but sundays are like that, beautiful in their easyness and boringness. all you need is a cup of your favorite tea, easy literature and hopefully electricity blackout so you're not tempted to turn on your laptop, tv or other unnecessary devices.
the candles from my other birthday cake make such a great decoration that i've decided not to throw them away yet. sophie dahl's first novel is one of the books/souvenirs i brought back from london a few months ago. i haven't read it yet, it's on the pile that waits long, worryless summer days..

english rose..

the pile of my garden/beach literature is getting bigger every day. this summer should last much longer for all i've prepared to read. anyway, love it when people go to london and think of me. although it would have been nice to get some vintage vivienne westwood souvenir from portobello road, i'm the girl of small pleasures, so the stones biography works quite fine for me this time. and the fact of having the august issues of my favorite magazines on the 10th of july is also pretty satisfying.

the entrance..

spending some quality time with three cool, crazy and super-talented people like paz, derek & guy from the entrance band, and finally seeing their live performance, has been one of my greatest experiences recently..their music reflects their charismatic personas, and their company puts on an everlasting smile on your face and makes you remember it's important to rediscover the magic of life over and over again, every single day..really hope to see them again soon.
